Welcome to Knallecupen in Borås, Sweden 

IK Ymer Volleyboll have the honour to invite you to the 40th
anniversary edition of Knallecupen, an international volleyball
tournament in Borås! This tournament is the perfect opportunity
for your team(s) to get together and play against other teams
with other nationalities. The tournament lasts for two days with
the group stage on Saturday and the playoffs on Sunday.

Categories 

Knallecupen will be played in the following categories: 

• Men’s Elite (highest Swedish division) 
• Women’s Elite (highest Swedish division) 

• Men’s Division 1 (2nd highest Swedish division) 
• Women’s Division 1 (2nd highest Swedish division) 

Historically, teams from seven different nations participated in this traditional pre-season tournament. The popular and motivating game schedule, where winners from the Division 1 categories on Saturday are given the chance to challenge the elite teams in Sunday’s playoff, is something Knallecupen are proud to offer it’s participants. 

 Matches 

Matches will be played in best of three sets. Group stage on Saturday and a playoff on Sunday. The finals in the elite categories will be played in best of 5 sets, giving the time is enough! 

Referees and scorekeeping 

The division 1 teams are to referee each other’s games for the whole tournament. However, our organisation will provide 1st and 2nd referee for all elite category games. We also have as a working goal to provide officials for the scorekeeping and secretariats of the elite tournaments in Boråshallen.  SVBF’s tournament rules applies for other questions. 

Board and lodging 

Once again we look forward to the supper of Knallecupen, where all participating teams are invited to participate on Saturday night. It’s a pleasant event with Borås city as hosts, where you will be served food and enjoy fun awards from Saturday’s group stage. We also hope we can offer a music quiz with live music!

Accommodations are easiest arranged through IK Ymer at a nearby school (Almåsgymnasiet) or at one of the central hotels or hostels in Borås. This is something we can help you to arrange.

We offer a classic swedish breakfast including porridge, cereals with milk/sour milk/yoghurt, bread, boiled eggs in Boråshallen. Served 07.00-10.00 both days.

We will also continue to offer participating teams pre-ordered pasta salad for lunch.

A separate form will be available here on our homepage in a few weeks for reservations regarding board and lodging.

Participation fees

• Registration fee
Elite: Before 30th of June – 1700SEK/team. 1st of July until dealine – 2000 SEK/team
First foreign team to register will play for free! (Guarantee fee still applies)
Division 1: Before 30th of June – 1400SEK/team. 1st of July until dealine – 1700 SEK/team

• Guarantee fee
1000 SEK/team
This fee has to be paid together with registration fee and will be refunded after completed tournament.

When? 

24th of August 2020: Deadline registration
31st of August 2020: Deadline notification for board and lodging
12th-13th of September 2020: Knallecupen!

Our cafeteria is improving by the year thanks to your opinions and this year we´re offering fresh made sandwiches, toast, homemade cookies, snacks, drinks, food and much more.
